Some people start looking at Shimla or Manali. Others think about a beach. A few consider just staying home and waiting for the heat to pass. But if you are from Rajasthan or Gujarat and you have not seriously considered Mount Abu yet, you are missing something that has been right next to you all along.<\/p>\n
Mount Abu is Rajasthan’s only hill station. It sits inside the Aravalli hills and stays noticeably cooler than the rest of the state throughout summer. It is not too far to reach. It is not too expensive to get to. And it has some genuinely good resorts that make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.<\/p>\n
Here are five straightforward reasons why Mount Abu should be on your list this summer.<\/p>\n
Let us start with the most important thing, and that\u2019s the weather.<\/p>\n
Mount Abu sits at around 1220 meters above sea level. That height makes a real difference. While cities like Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Jodhpur are touching 42 to 45 degrees between April and June, Mount Abu stays somewhere between 23 and 33 degrees during the same months. That is not just a little cooler. That is a completely different experience.<\/p>\n
Mornings feel fresh. There is almost always a light breeze moving through the hills. Evenings are comfortable enough to sit outside and actually enjoy. And nights are cool enough to sleep properly without the fan running at full speed all night.<\/p>\n
For anyone who has spent a long Rajasthan or Gujarat summer dealing with that kind of heat, arriving in Mount Abu feels like taking a long breath for the first time in weeks.<\/p>\n
The weather here does exactly what you need a summer destination to do. It gives you genuine relief.<\/p>\n
A lot of people talk about going to Shimla or Manali in the summer. And those are beautiful places. But they require either an expensive flight or a very long drive through mountain roads that get seriously congested when everyone else has the same idea.<\/p>\n
By the time you reach it, you have already spent a good chunk of your holiday energy just getting there.<\/p>\n
Mount Abu is not like that.<\/p>\n
From Ahmedabad, it is around 220 kilometers. That is roughly four hours by road. From Udaipur, it is about 185 kilometers, under four hours. From Surat, around five and a half hours. These are comfortable driving distances that work well for a family road trip.<\/p>\n
If you prefer the train, Abu Road railway station is well connected to Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Delhi. From the station to most resorts on Mount Abu Road is just ten to fifteen minutes by road.<\/p>\n
No flights needed. No complicated travel plans. Just a simple drive or train journey, and you are there.<\/p>\n
A few years ago, the accommodation options in Mount Abu were fairly limited. Basic rooms, average food, not much else.<\/p>\n
